I am one of the great-grandchildren of William Richman, the founder of Richman Ice Cream Company. (There are quite a few of the Richman grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren scattered throughout the United States!) My grandmother, who is quite active in her amazing life, is the sole suriving child of William and a wonderful family historian. My cousin also published an excellent historical account about William Richman and the ice cream company while at Princeton University. The Richman Family Homestead is in Sharptown, NJ.
Richman Ice Cream Company was founded in 1894 and the original site is in Woodstown (Salem County), New Jersey.
The ice cream company was sold to a private US family company in the late 1980s.
