My husband's Pate family has ties to the Roberson Family in 1860. Our Emanuel Pate (b. ca 1821 TN) was married to Elizabeth Jane Roberson. Emanuel's son (by his first wife Permelia Atchley), Walter, married a Martha Roberson. The parents of Emanuel are unknown except his mother named Lucinda b ca 1797. It is family lore that Emanuel's parents were first cousins, that his biological father died ca 1827 TN, and according to census his mother re-married to a Jacob Richardson. This family moved to AL ca 1830-40. Census records show his mother's birthplace as NC. Anyone have a connection to this family??
