Robertson Family in the South

Hi. I'm having a very difficult time with my search because I was adopted, and by the time I made contact with my family, most of the people who would actualy know the information I'm looking for had passed away. I know that the Robertsons that I'm loking for were at some point, if not stil, in Walterboro, SC. I have the family story of my great great great grandfather, Thomas Roberston, was a founding member of the KKK in Walterboro. Some of the family moved down to the Green Cove Springs area of Florida, though when they moved it was called Russell. My great grandfather was a founding minister for the Russell Baptist Church. His name was Philip Lee Robertson. He went by Lee because his father went by Philip. I know nothing of any extended family any earlier than my great great Granddaddy Lee. I do have the names of his eight other siblings, which there was only one alive back in 2006 when I met her. Any information that may be slightly related to what I'm looking for, or if you may know where I can look, I would appreciate the help. I'm still prety new to using the internet to track this information down. Thanks!

Tina
