I found an article that traces my genealogy from my first Robertson to come to America to my great-grandfather. The article focus on the James Robertson the first one of my family to move to Michigan. And it mentions his parents John & Mary Robertson and his grandfather Alexander. I'd like to find out more about Alexander & John, but not sure how. Here is what I know about them. Alexander came to America from the north of Ireland and was a decendant of Scotch dissenters. John was his son. John's wife was Mary Surgeon of Martinsburg WV (Virginia back then.) On October 22nd 1808 they had a son James in Martinsburg WV Berkeley County. In 1810 they moved near Maple Run, West Virginia (now Aurora) Preston County.
I'd love to find out when John and Mary were born & married. I'd also like to find out when Alexander was born, who he maried, when he came to the US, and anything about his parents.
