Trying to trace:
Henry C. Bennett married Rebecca Rose (b. about 1816 in Mississippi d/o Enoch Rose and wife, Mary) on 4 Dec 1834 in Madison County, Mississippi
In Enoch Rose's will (July 1843) we see the following:
William Malls Rose - son
Mary (Rose) Slakes Potteu - daughter
Paschal Rose - son
Rebecca Rose Bennett - daughter
Mary Jane Rose Irwin - daughter
Elizabeth Rose Greaves - daughter
Margaret Rose - daughter
John Rose - son
H. C. Bennett - administrator for John Rose, executor, friend
Robert Decker - friend, executor
D. W. Haley, Harrison Jordan, Geo. W. Stewart - witnesses
Does anyone have any other Rose/Bennett marriages. I see a lot of Roses in NC where this Henry was born. I wonder if the families knew each other or migrated together.
I believe that this Enoch Rose was a veteran of the War of 1812. He patented several tracts of land in Mississippi in the 1830's.
