Christine: After reviewing the Rose message forum, I realize you must be a VERY busy woman. I am searching for my great-grandmother. The family knows very little information regarding her. She was in her early 30s when she died. The following is what the family knows. Ida Mae Rose born 1881 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, father possibly William Rose. She had a son named John Amos Moore prior to 1900 census. Was she married before? 1900 census shows she married John C. Brack Banks. John AMOS eventually went by "Banks" - WWI registration, death certificate. Ida and John had the following children: Effie Mae (died in infancy)(buried in Wolfe County, Calaboose, KY along with Brack, Ben, Dorse) William GOEBEL Banks b. 1900 (my grandfather), Ben, James DORSE, George, June b. 1910 and Elmer b. 1913 . It is said she died either giving birth to Elmer because very shortly afterwards. June was sent to a foster home and Elmer was sent to living some of (we believe) Ida's family. Possibly Caroline Spencer(married name). I found a picture on another message board asking if anyone knew the young boy named Elmer Banks standing with Caroline Spencer. I believe the county was Fayette County, KY. My grandfather, Wm. Goebel Banks is the only child to marry and have children. June married/divorced, Potter was her married name. No children. The rest of the males never married. June and Elmer are retired military and lived at the soldiers home in Washington DC for a while. Thank you, Kay Banks Large Notify Administrator about this message?
