I am looking for info on William A. Ross, born on 9/16/1843, somewhere in Maine. His death Certificate says that his father's name was also William, but born in Scotland. His mother's name was not listed, but was born in Ireland. I am looking for any information on William or his father/mother, such as brother's, sister's, family immigration info, etc. I do not know when or where his father immigrated to the US. Family rumor has it that he and his brother Robert were in the civil war. William married Elizabeth Thienes (of Indiana) in 1873, after he moved to Minnesota in 1867 where they homesteaded land. Any information or advice on where to search would be appreciated.
