We are researching
Rushing/Rushen connection.
We have a Great Great Grandfather Nathan Rushing born circa 1805 Stewart Co. Tennessee. about 1805, his parents may be from Kentucky. We are trying to find his parents. There is some confusion because there were two Nathans born about the same time near the same area. The one who moved to Illinois is not our ancestor.
Our ancestor shows up on the 1850 Census in Monroe Co. Arkansas Clarnedon Co. Jackson Township.
This Nathan married Emily Harris Everett. OUr ancesstor is his son William Sydnor Rushing born Oct 25, 1828 in Kentucky, and died about 1903 Arkansas He was the husband of Sarah Ann Taylor wife # one Second wife was N. A Bickle November 12. 1892. We understand that most likely the family went by Rushen prior to 1805. Therewere some census records where the Rushen name was used on some of the family.
Appreciate any ideas you may have regarding our family tree.
Thanks, Linda Day
