I regret that this is so long after the previous messages about my Great grand father etc. However Maria Elizabeth Rushen was my g/mother and married Alfred Thompson in 1908. They had three sons William (b1909) Harold (b1913) my father Kenneth (b1919) and one daughter Margaret (b1926)
Maria Elizabeth died in Sundridge, Kent in late 1974. Mary (as she was known) and Alf were living in Fort Cottages at the top of Westerham Hill when my fathre was born. These cottages were on Little Betsoms Farm where Alf and Mary later became tenant farmers. My father later took over the tenancy sometime in the early fifties but although not bankrupt eventually sold all the farm equipment and surrendered the tenancy in 1956 and left with about £7 in his pocket.
I know little about the Rushens but having spoken to Margaret the only survivor of the in between generation we are fairly certain that the listing of children of William Henry Rushen is correct.
