Abstracted from the Augusta Chronicle.
Goodwin, Jake - resided at 408 Milledge Road died March 21, 1961 after an extended illness. Interment at West View Cemetery. He was the son of the late Jake Cauley and Loamie Hurt Goodwin. Native of Saluda, SC. He resided in Augusta, Ga most of his life. Husband of Mattie Kitchens. Retired, former textile worker at the King Mill, Augusta, Ga. Survivors include: James Hudson Goodwin, Augusta; Mrs. Elease Baber, Augusta.
Goodwin, James Hudson- age 81, died December 28, 1999 at his residence on Berkley Road. Funeral conducted at Platts Funeral Home. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Native of Augusta, Ga., retired from the U. S. Post Office. An Army Air Corps veteran, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3200, American Legion Post 205, John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge 677 and First Baptist Church. Survivors include: Ruth Taylor Goodwin; son, Jerry Hudson Goodwin (married to Mavis Helen Murphy), Warrenville, SC.; daughters, Cheryl G. Myers, Augusta, and Jean G. Phillips, Cedar Lake, Ind.; sister Elease G. Baber, Augusta.
Note: The son of James Hudson Goodwin (Jerry) is my Uncle.
