Sewall Genealogy Vol. II In Progress

The second volume of "Descendants of Henry Sewall (1576-1656)" is in progress.

The SEVENTH generation, born mostly between 1770 and 1820, has 119 family groups. All but 15 are U.S. families; 13 Sewell families are based in Quebec and 2 in England. This chapter is in good shape but needs some fact checking.

The EIGHTH generation, born mostly between 1810 and 1860, has 187 family groups. The heads of household have almost all been identified, but there is still quite a bit to do.

The NINTH generation, born mostly between 1840 and 1890, has 141 family groups. It is very incomplete and still needs much basic research.

For these 450 family groups only 21 portraits have been identified. Most of the heads of these families lived well past the beginning of photography. Any leads at all to portraits will be very much appreciated.

Please let me know if you would like to help with this effort with either family data or pictures, or if you are just curious about what I've got.

With best wishes,

Eben W. Graves
Norwalk, Conn
