I think there is a possibility of connection of the families. Agnes Allen b. 1811 in Bedford Co., TN; she married Robert Smart and I believe it was in AL as all their children were born there 1831-1847 last child born. The 1850 census for Jackson Co. AL lists Agnes Smart and her children but no Robert. The Allens were in Spartanburg, SC in 1806, then on to Bedford Co. TN and later to Rhea Co. TN for the 1830 and 1840 census.
I don't really have a thing on the Smart family and was not sure about Robert Smart until the Allen researcher gave me the data as to Agnes Allen marrying Robert and having children. I know that Valentine P. Smart (Agnes and Robert's son, was in Antoine, Clark Co. AR as he married Mary Frazier Jan. 1872 in Arkadelphia, Clark Co. AR. It appears as if the Valentine Smart family went back to Alabama as one of his children was born there in 1875; they returned to AR. Elizabeth Agnes Smart (daughter of Robert Smart and Agnes Allen) married Elijah Jacob Hawkins in 1892and they moved to Fannin Co. TX by 1893. I think some of the Smart children (siblings to Elizabeth A. Smart) moved to Fannin Co. and Palo Pinto, CO. TX but don't have much on them.
