I am looking for information on my great grandfather James Smith b. abt 1851 in PA, his parents were born in Ireland. I found him and his wife Elizabeth (nee Gannon) on the 1880 census, but can't find him on any earlier census. I would like to find out who his parents were and if he had any siblings.
They lived in south Phila. at 827 S. Second St. with his brother-in-law John Gannon.
My great grandfather had a son Edward and James.
Any info would be great.
