Looking for info on parents of William G. SMITH born 20 Aug. 1863 in TX, county unknown. The G. may have stood for "Grant". He married Nancy Arizonia HULSEY on 3 July 1890 in Ft. Smith, Sebastian co. Arkansas, USA. In 1900, Will and Arizonia resided in Hartshorne, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, now Pittsburg co. OK.
At that time they were parents of three children all born in Indian Territory... son Lafayette SMITH age 6,..daughter Cordie SMITH age 4,..and daughter Davey SMITH age 2.
By 1910 another daughter was added....Bonnie Gertrude SMITH b. Dec. 1900.
Wm. G. SMITH died in McAlester, Pittsburg co. Oklahoma, USA on 1 Apr. 1942. From census records, Wm's father was always listed as born in Ireland. From Wm's funeral record, His father's name is listed as "Dave SMITH". Wm's mother's name and place of birth is unclear. She may have been born in TX, AR, or AL. Her name on Wm's funeral record is also unclear...looks like Laura Jane, Sarah Jane, or Laurita Jane GREV??? maybe GREVERY.
On the 1870 census for Sebastian co. AR, there is a Wm. Grant Smith age 6 born TX and Thomas Smith age 3 born AR, living with the John & Sarah Williamson family. Is this the same Wm. Grant SMITH?
