James Spann born about 1754 who married Elizabeth Fox was a son of John Spann "the Elder", not James Spain.

Proof of this statement can be found in Edgefield Deed Book 1, page 194-195. Further proof can be found in Edgefield Deed Book 10, page 119 through 130.

There is no connection between the Thweatt family of Prince George County, Virginia and the the Spann family.
