Do you know where in Washington County your ancestor Isaac Stevens was from? Do you know if his family was in Washington County prior to and during the Revolution? You say 1800s, but you don't say if you refer to the early 1800s or late 1800s.
I ask these questions for the following reasons.
We are descended from Edmund Stevens (born c 1738 possibly Kittery-died c 1790 Addison, Maine), our Revolutionary War ancestor.
The only other Stevens in what was to become Washington County during the Revolutionary War was Joseph Stevens of Steuben.
We believe that Edmund and Joseph may be brothers, but have hit a "brick wall" in trying to determine our g-g-g-g grandfather Edmund Stevens' parentage.
So, if your ancestors were in Washington County during the Revolutionary War and in the early 1800s, there is a 99% chance that you are descended from either Edmund or Joseph. We think we have documented 97-98% of Edmund's descendants, although every now and then someone new pops up whom we can subsequently document.
