It seems like a long time since we last spoke or corresponded. I "just happened" to be on one of the Street websites and hit the link for this forum and saw your recent post. Research on our Sheltons has come a long way the past few years. Recently I’ve been concentrating on Temperance. It makes total sense that Anthony who died in Winchester, Franklin County, Tennessee was her father, and William, Asa and Anthony were her brothers. However, I am far from sure about this. No doubt she is related. There could be a missing son – and she is his daughter. When my research first began, I assumed that the older Anthony is the person who we see first in the Marion County Deed Books. After studying Marion County microfilm and following the land records closely it looks like the Sequatchie River land belonged to the younger Anthony Street. A few years ago, I was in contact with Tom Street who was publishing the Street Newsletter. He shared a Street Gedcom for ancestors of William Street born abt. 1670 and died Caroline County, VA. in 1752. He is said to have married Jane Waddy born abt. 1684. The file seems to be a compilation of “The Street Genealogy” and data from modern day Street researchers. Some of it is very confusing to me and some dates don’t fit with original records I have found at Library of Virginia and NC State Archives.
