Hi. Can I ask your source for the parents of Anna Stover Bushong (16 Dec 1789-8 Jun 1849)? No parents were listed when she married 1 March 1805 to John Bushong. The information we have is confusing, contradictary and not well documented. 1) There is no marriage found between David Stover and Elizabeth Strickler. However one is found between David Stover and Regina Stickley in 1799. 2) Daniel Stover married in 1794 to Elizabeth Strickley who was a spinster (single; not previously married). I have seen her called both Stickley and Strickler. Most connect her with John Stickley & wife Barbara Morgan, however these people fail to note that John's daughter Elizabeth was married to Joseph Strickler, not Daniel Stover. 3) H M Strickler's Forerunners states Jacob's daughter Elizabeth Strickler married either Daniel or David Stover. He flip flops between whom married whom. 4) Some state Elizabeth married twice 1st to David and then to Daniel Stover. If this is true then there are inconsistencies in the children. Children of Daniel Stover md 1794 Elizabeth Strickler 1) Abraham 17 jun 1795-29 Sep 1844 2) Isaac 11 Jun 1797-7 Jun 1875 3) Catherine 2 Jan 1799- 4) Jacob 3 Sep 1800- 5) Anna 14 Dec 1801-16 Jan 1806 6) Samuel 14 Dec 1803-19 Jun 1864 7) Rebecca 22 Sep 1806- 8) David 21 May 1810 dy 9) Daniel 21 Apr 1811- 10) Elizabeth 10 Jan 1814-17 Apr 1847 Children of David Stover reportedly by Elizabeth Strickler 1) Daniel b.1785 2) Barbara b.1787 3) Anna b. 1789 Note two of the chidlren appear in both lists with different dates. I haven't even begun to discuss the different sets of b/d dates given for David, Daniel and Elizabeth...... ==================== I loaned out my copy of Forerunners to double check and see if Elizabeth Stover is even listed as a child who recieved part of Jacob Stricklers estate after his son John died in 1802 leaving the wish that all of Jacob's children by both wives recieve part of the estate. ==================== I have records that show David Stover was a son of Daniel Stover & wife Anna Albright (or Magdalena Hess) (yet another inconsistency). My records then show that Daniel Stover (md Elizabeth) was a son of Samuel & Barbara (Lionberger) Stover. Samuel's will was written in Shenandoah County. He mentions his wife Barbara; Son Daniel part of land he (samuel) now lives on; son David estate in Culpepper Co.; Son John 500 acres on the Ohio; Son Samuel part of plantation south of son Daniel; Son Joseph 500 acres also on the Ohio. Rest to be divided equally between his seven children. (Shenandoah Co. WB G P 331) Dated March 22, 1805 and probated Sept? 1809. ============================== I am not trying to be a sour apple but I know there has been alot of assumptions made over the years on the Strickler family, many of which have proven false. I am not currently in a position to provide enough concrete evidence regarding the Stover-Strickler families to resolve the questions about the lineage. I am however very interested in anyone who might have documented evidence regarding this family connection. Thanks for your time. Frank Notify Administrator about this message?
