Are you Buddy's son?
I have considerable information on this family as well as pictures of many of them. Of Daniel & Mary McCown children (yes that is the way she spelled her name and the way it is here in VA) it appears that only Joseph went to Oregon. Daniel A lived in Nebraska, Elizabeth and Mary remained in Illinois, Henry died young, Edward went missing and Christina may have remnained in Illinois. Of Joseph his sons Daniel & Oliver went to Oregon while Joseph was in Oklahoma. Edna and Mary I have not found anything on.
