As is often the case, of information posted on the Internet it should be taken with a grain of salt. I have been researching my family surname, specifically my fathers line [ROBINS], for over 50 years, with considerable success. This is my question and it is a puzzler, for many years there has been posted on the Internet, information that is refering to a marriage between my gggg-grandfather John ROBINS/ROBBINS, Jr., he was born c.1720, in Virginia (Orange Cty.), and died before August 1792, in Wilkes Cty., North Carolina. The Internet shows that he was married to Margaret STROTHER (?), she was born c. 1725, and died c. 1786, they were married about 1743 in Virginia. John Robins and family relocated from Orange Cty., VA in abt. 1776. Land records in [Surrey] Wilkes Cty., NC show that garndpa owned two plantations, by 1782 he had increased his plantaion holding three fold. He had one of the largest plantations in NC. I also have another question: a plantation as large as he owned, there should be some record or preserved record of this huge plantation, 936 acres. I invite everyone to visit my web site at: http://jimrobins.cherokee-online.com/robins.php Notify Administrator about this message?
