There is a Strother Woodyard who was born 1797 in either Prince William or Fauquier County, Virginia and who died in 1834 in Grant County, Kentucky.
He was the eldest son of William Jr. and Rebecca Clay (Simms/Semmes) Woodyard; both were born in Charles County, Maryland, he on 12 August 1775 and she on 27 August 1776. She was related to the Semmes family of Charles County, possibly the daughter of Edward and Anne (Edelon) Semmes.
William Woodyard Jr. was the son of William Woodyard and his wife Mary or Ann, maiden name unknown. William was the son of Richard and Elizabeth (Tyler) Woodyard of Charles County. One possibility is that his wife, Mary or Ann, was a Strother. Is there information on the Strother family being in Charles County or in Stafford, Prince William and/or Fauquier Counties in Virginia. Is there any connection between the two families?
