Another poster pointed out that Ancestry.com gives the Strother ancestry as an alternate, with a note that the alternate is more likely to be correct.

There is a problem with the standard version, starting at the very beginning. The second wife of Henry Tyler was the widow of John Orchard. John Orchard married in England, and there is a record of a marriage for Ann Philips, but not Ann Armistead.

Thanks for the reference, I will try to look it up myself.
