The John Strother that died in Hancock Co,Ga., was I believe the brother-in-law of Mark Stroud, and the brother of Martha Strother Thompson Stroud. Mark and Martha Stroud were my 5th Great-Grandparents. Mark Stroud is the son of John and Sarah Connally Stroud. Both Mark and his father,John were Rev. War Veterans, as was John Strother. John Strother and Mark Stroud are buried in Hancock Co.,Ga., which the county seat is Sparta. I have tried to find out where John Strother and Mark Stroud are buried there, but a local Hancock Co. historian didn't know!
I have seen John Stroud and his wife's graves at Mars Hill Baptist Church in Watkinsville,Ga., where they were two of nine founding members of the church in 1799.
