I did a search and here's what I found. Not sure if it's you John Sullivan, but it seems as if it could be. The 1900 Union Co, OH census states:
John W. Sullivan age 45
Lona M. Sullivan wife age 27
Glennie Sullivan dau age 13
John H. Sullivan son age 11
Dallas Sullivan son age 7
Metellur Sullivan son age 5
Paul W. Sullivan son age 4
Cecil M. Sullivan son age 1
It also states that John and Lona had only been married for 9 years and only the last 4 children belonged to the both of them. The oldest 2 children must have belonged to a 1st wife of John W. It further states that John H. was born Sept. 1888. Sounds like this might be your John Sullivan. I'll see if I can locate any marriage or death records for them. Good luck on your search.
