Stephen Gillingham born ca.1808 at Holwell or Sturminster Newton, son of Reuben and Rosanna, nee Adams. Family were shoemakers/cordwainers in Sturminster Newton. Stephen md. Eliza Kerley 1828 and their son John is my 2 x great-grandfather. Stephen md.(2)Susan Strange and (3) Ann Catherine Fricker. He left Ann with 2 young daughters between 1848 and 1851 & went to Australia; they joined him in Melbourne 1853 but Ann d. 3 months later. Stephen's son John 1830-1917 became Methodist minister in South Australia. His daughter Elizabeth md. Robert Allan 1854 in Adelaide & lived in Melbourne, d. 1908. Another daughter Rosanna Martha Gillingham md. Frederick Jones 1864 at Collingwood, Melbourne. Last daughter Annie md. Walter Wm. Bermingham, Adelaide 1878 and lived in Broken Hill, New South Wales. Stephen died a miner 1881 Talbot in Victoria.
