In 1859, James H. Thomas (b 1809) left Johnston Co.,NC with daughters Ellender (b 1846), Spicey (b 1848, and son Rufus Daniel (b 1856) and went to Rutherford Co., NC where he married Polly Mirey Bradley on June 8, 1859. James H. and Mariah Stanley (b 1825) were married when James H. left with the three children. The son Rufus Daniel Thomas was back in Johnston Co., NC and married Easter Pherlicia Temple on May 29, 1879. Have not been able to find any record of James H., Ellender, Spicey, or Polly after 1859. James H. was the son of Alexander Thomas and grandson of Elisha Thomas. He had one brother Gray William Thomas who migrated from Johnston Co., NC to Randolph County, Arkansas. Any lead or potential lead would be appreciated. Also willing to share info on the descendents of Elisha Thomas and Lucy Massey.
