hi harold. our family is catholic, too. here's the info on edward a's father, john tighe. he had 11 children, of which 1 died at age 9. his children were named: 1. james rowan t, 2. marget t, 3. jane t. 4. william t, 5. edward augustus t, 6 margarette t, 7. john c, 8. charles t 9. joseph t. 10. mary ann t, 11. josias t 1. John (nmn)2 Tighe (Ireland Connection1) was born June 23, 1809 in County Sligo, Connacht Province, Ireland, and died January 19, 1892 in Manley, Cass County, Nebraska. He married Mary Anne Rowan Abt. 1832 in Ireland or Canada, daughter of James Rowan and Ann ??. She was born April 23, 1817 in Dublin, Leinster Province, Ireland, and died January 01, 1895 in Manley, Cass County, Nebraska. john tighe's brothers & sisters were named: 1. edward, 2. charles, 3. james, 4. watts (male), 5. kim (male) 6. mary ann. i don't know if any of them came to the states from canada or later became church of england members. there is a very good chance that you are not related at all through this line. i did not recognize the occupations you listed. i had always heard that they went to canada to export grain to ireland in the early 1830s. then the famine in the 1840s wiped out that business, i guess. they came to the usa in the 1870s to be farmers. kevin tighe l.a., ca.
