I am trying to find anyone who knows anything about the birth of Alma TIGHE in 1923 to Mary Alice TIGHE. Alma was adopted in 1929 by Flora BANCROFT and we have the unusual papers from the Manchester Courts, but there is no record in the register of births in Salford to confirm that the birth certificate we have (issued in 1944) was our Alma Tighe. No father's name given on any document. Trying to locate Mary Alice TIGHE before 1923 and after 1923.
She was living in 19 Tulip Street, Salford in 1923, but gave birth at 2 Stott Lane, Salford (probably Salford Workhouse - attached to hospital). She was a chocolate maker, but no other records exist. Does anyone have any idea how to follow this up? Or are you related to a Mary Alice Tighe from Salford/ Manchester, UK?
