We have been told that James Madison Hart was born in Henderson County, TN.. this is the info we have so far.

1920 Emily Hart-Widow is living with her daughter in
Jefferson Co, Tx daughter name is now Ida Fowle.

We have recently found James Madison Hart's death certificate. He was shot and killed in Jefferson Co, Texas while visiting his daughter Mary Frances Hart-Stevens, he was shot by her husband J.D. "Joe" Stevens. Over a family dispute. We have articles on this shooting from the local newspapers.
On James M. Hart's death certificate he actually died on April 19, 1917 and his body was sent to Burnet Co, Texas for burial on Apr. 22, 1917. On Death Certificate in Jefferson Co, Texas he is listed as NON-RESIDENT. His birthyear is Mar. 8, 1852 Tennessee. His father is listed as D.K. Hart -place of birth unknown, mother unknown. This info was given by James Madison Hart's son- J.A. Hart. Cause of Death given was Shock from Gun Shot Wound. Undertakers was Pipkin & Brulin.

Looking for any Hart Family in the Briggs, Burnet Co, or Jefferson Co., Texas area. My great grandparents was James Madison Hart b. 1852 Tn and Emily Elizabeth Ethridge-Hart b. 1854 Hardin Co, Tn. We have James M. Hart's death cert. and articles of his death.
Both James and Emily are buried in Briggs, Burnet Co, Tn in the Mount Moriah Cemetery under the name of J.M. Hart and E.E. Hart.
James Madison Hart b. 7 Mar. 1852 Tn d. 19 Apr. 1917 in Jefferson Co, Texas and buried in Briggs.
Emily Elizabeth Ethridge-Hart b. 19 Feb. 1854 Hardin Co, Tn d. 17 July 1928 Beaumont, Jefferson Co, Texas and she is buried in Briggs, Burnet Co, Texas next to her husband.
They had 9 children:
Mary Francis (Fanny) Hart b. 1877, Eva Jeanette Hart b. 1878, William Franklin Hart b. 1880, James (Jim)A. Hart b. 1883, Richard (Dick) Arthur Hart b. 1886, Lorenzo (Ramzie)Hart b. 1889, Fred Lee Hart b. 1892, Ida Beatrice Hart b. 1895 and Woodard (Woody)McKinney Hart b. 1899.

Mary Francis Hart married J.D. Stevens and 2nd unknown Heath
Eva Jeanette Hart married Moab Stephen Taylor
William Franklin Hart married Gussie Viola Shell
James A. Hart married Inez Hatcher
Richard Arthur Hart married Stella Wilkinson
Lorenzo Hart ?? don't know
Fred Lee Hart married Ruby Gail Cole
Ida Beatrice Hart married Fred Fowle
Woodard (Woody,Woodie) McKinney Hart married Carrie Unknown
