I, too, am seeking this information. I have seen dates of his birth ranging from 1735 to 1760, most commonly 1755. Most likely from VA, but possibly SC, he was a private in the VA infantry in Revolutionary War and most likely King's Mtn. He was awarded 100-250 acres of land on the Nolichucky River which he sold to Gov. John Sevier after moving to Franklin Co., GA. ANY information you have on John would be greatly appreciated!
