Anyone interested in the BELL (GA and MS) and CHILDRESS (GA and MS) connection, particularly that of Harrison Kendricks Wylie (H.K.W., 'Hen', Henry) CHILDRESS and Martha BELL check out my message:

That's message 13599 on the Bell family forum.

H.K.W. was a son of Goen CHILDRESS and Orpha BOX. The family moved from TN (Humphreys County) to MS circa the time of the Cherokee Trail of Tears (1838-1839), his mother may have been pregnant with him when they moved. Edward BOX, the grandfather of Orpha was raised by the Cherokee and married a Cherokee woman who took the English name Elizabeth NEWTON.
