I am researching Samuel McCaig who married Elizabeth
Leslie/Lesley in 1812 in Humphreys Co TN. They were
in Perry County by about 1830 and then moved in about
1847 to Conway County AR where Samuel died ca 1850.
There were several McCaigs in Humphreys county in the
early 1800s. I found an obit for a Wm. McCag born in Ireland and came to NC in 1792 and then to TN and
finally to Humphreys Co where he died in 1845 leaving
a wife and children, one of them also named William.
My line, Samuel, was born 1785 Ireland. His first
son Jacob Samuel McCaig b. 1805 lived in Perry Co
about all of his life. The rest of the children
moved to Ark, I believe.
Wondering if the McCaigs, born Ireland, who were in
Humphreys County in 1810s, 1820s, 1830s, could be
siblings. Would appreciate any leads.
