Hello, my name in Mitzi Mitchem. I too am researching the Bell family.
Elijah is my gggg Grandfather. Here's what I have
Burrell Bell( Elijah's father married Mary?) b 1760 South Carolina (He's listed in Humphreys co. census on genweb)
His children:
Elijah b 1794 probably SC
John M b 1802 SC
Elijah married Synthia Bennet b 30 Aug 1800
They had 14 children I have their names and dates if you need them. I have been searching for Burrell Bell for quiet some time, their are many, I think every Bell family named 1 child Burrell. Their are a lot of sites that have him being married to a Mary unknown, and a Sophia Yancy. The only problem with that is that Burrell's second son by Mary was'nt born until 1802 and he supposedly married Sophia in 1797 , I believe the Mary you mentioned in your post is Elijah's mother and if so she did'nt die before Burrell, so I don't believe they have the right Burrell. It gets quiet confusing sometimes. I can't seem to find this particular line of Bell's they have been very illusive. I wish you luck, and I will keep in touch if I find anymore info,and I would hope that you will do the same. By the way how do you connect with the Bells?
