Thanks for the information. I am descended from a Robert Allen born in 1823 in Jackson Co., TN. He was the son of an unknown Allen( who died before 1830) and Celia Rash. They migrated to Jackson County, AL about 1826. I think his father might have been the son of Ananias Allen, who also lived in Jackson Co., TN and moved to Jackson Co., AL,about the same time the Rash family moved there.

Both Jackson Co., AL, and Jackson Co., TN had courthouse fires, which makes it very difficult to establish proof of who his father was.
