Desperately seeking info on Sarah Elizabeth Clark, who married Haywood G. Bennett as his second wife on 04/01/1850 in Jackson Co., Tennessee. Sarah Elizabeth was born on 08/02/1817 (one record says 02/02/1817) in Jackson County. She died on 11/19/1868, place unknown. By the time she died they had moved to Hamilton Co., Illinois.
She and Haywood are listed in the 1850 Jackson Co. census.
While living in Jackson County their two sons were born:
John Pomfret Bennett, born 07/04/1851
Henry Claudius Bennett, born 08/28/1853
Since Sarah was 33 at the time of her marriage to Haywood Bennett it is possible that she was married before.
My grandfather (Haywood and Sarah's grandson) told me that he was told she had a dark complection and was supposedly park Indian.
I have been trying to find info on her siblings and parents for 33 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
