John McFarland married Betsy Davis in 1799 in Jefferson County, TN. I believed him to be the son of Robert McFarland and Margaret McNutt because the children of this couple did marry in Jefferson County; however, most give the spouse of John McFarland, son of Robert and Margaret, as Virginia Jane McNutt. Can anyone straighten me out?
