I am hoping some one may be able to help me prove my GGGgrandmother's maiden name, I have a copy of Adam Letner's marriage license on Oct 10 1822 in Dandridge Jefferson Co. TN. to Julia or Julian seems to be the first name of his bride, but the last name looks as it could be Mapes,Mopes, Mofes, Mafes, if any one has access to this document, could you please help me decipher the correct surname for my GGGgrandmother so that I might be able to search for her parents and siblings. I thank you for any help. Caralyn
