Lisa

Thanks for your quick responce. I am sending what I have on the Franklins of Jefferson Co. TN in hopes that you may be able to find a connection. I have a feeling that my g-g-grandmother Nancy Franklin Cantrill was the daughter of Henry or Owen and related to Sallie, Milbury, and Sara Franklin. They may have been sisters or cousins.

Here is what I have on The Jefferson Co. TN Franklins. These marraiges took place in Jeff. CO. TN.

Sallie Franklin m. Thomas Kelly Aug. 21 1822.

Nancy Franklin b. 1811 in NC m. Isaac Cantrill b. 1812 in Rutherford Co., NC August 23, 1832 Thomas Kelly was bondsman.

Milbury Franklin m. Danial Manard (Maynard)1828,

Sally (Sarah) Franklin m. William French 1832.

Henry Franklin died in Jeff. Co. in 1828. Son (?) James was still in the County in 1830. The French's Maynard's Kelly's and James Franklin were neighbors. Many were members of the Dumplin Baptist Church. Nancy, Milbury, Sarah, and possibly Sallie moved with their husbands to IL after 1832. Nancy died in 1868 and is buried in the Purvis cemetery in Moultrie Co. IL.

I hope this makes since. I have more on the families while they were in IL but very little on them while they were in TN. The 1820 census for eastern TN would be a great help if it were not lost. I think most were originaly from NC. Rutherford, (Burke?), Wilkes, and Surry Co.'s.

Jim Cantrell
