I have found a census report for one Mathias B. Moyers b. 1857 in VA in a 1910 Virginig Census. He was 53, white and the head of household in Ashby Rockingham Virginia. His wife Elizabeth was 40 and born in VA. Their children were Anna M 16, Nora 12, Virgie 5, and Howard age not readable.
My Mathias Moyers line came from Rockingham Va down to Dandridge, Jefferson County, Rhea County, Tennessee. His wife was Mary Collins. Mathias died young and Mary married next Andrew Gass. Mary and Mathias Moyers had children and some of them moved on to GA and Alabama, my ancestors came to Limestone County, Alabama.
Does anyone know if the Mathias B. Moyers might be connected to the Mathias Moyers who came from VA to East TN. My Mathias was the son of Jacob Moyers who was the son of Jacob the immigrant from Berg, Switzerland that came to the states on the ship Jamica Galley in 1739. Jacob b. abt 1753 married Sarah/Soloma Miller November 6, 1781 in Strasburg, VA. If anyone can tell me who the parents of Mathias B. of Va was maybe he might be a nephew of my Mathias as he was born in Va, some of his siblings might have stayed there. Would be nice to make a connection.
