Thanks again for your response. I have been reaserching the Patricks of Overton Co. for several months, trying to determine their connection. There was a Hugh Patrick, father of John Patrick who was there in 1805. This John had sons, Hiram who married Polly Coons, another son, John also called Jackson who served in the War of 1812. From the census records, there were other children, but their names are unknown to me. Hiram Patrick owed some debts and left the county ca 1840's. The administrators of Joel Coffee, dec'd brought a law suit against him recorded in Overton Co. and John Walker Patrick is also named, but not on the side of the plantiffs, but as one of the defendants along with Hiram. So, there must be some sort of connection. The John Patrick who married Elizabeth Calloway died there in 1824. This couple married in Bedford Co, VA then moved to Madison Co, KY where she died in 1819. John is still on the 1820 Madison Co, KY census, but his obituary says he died in Monroe,TN. (Monore was at one time the county seat of Overton Co) He must have been there visiting these other Patricks?? Maybe because they were family?? How does John Walker Patrick fit into this family or does he?? I had found that John W. Patrick left Overton Co., found him in Oregon and then in Montana on the census records. I could tell that he had married twice. I had read On-line that he was the son of William Jefferson Patrick and Jemima Walker but no one had referenced a soure for this information. I am delighted to have this. Do you know anything at all about William Jefferson Patrick and Jemima Walker? Thanks again! Sue Notify Administrator about this message?
