Henry DAVIS was enumerated in the 1860 Putnam Co., TN, census in the household of Anderson DAVIS, whose wife, Nancy, may have been a dau of William WILLIS. Compare these two censuses: 1850 Census Overton Co., TN Dist. 5 Pg 32A 20 Sep 1850 HH 432/433 Ln 10 DAVIS, Anderson 41 TN Farmer Nancy 43 TN Louisa 19 TN (Idiot) [Luraney in 1860 census] Hannah 18 TN James 15 TN Henry 13 TN Mary 10 TN Elizabeth 7 TN Nancy 2 TN WILLIS, William 74 VA 1860 Census Putnam Co., TN Civil Dist. 6 White Plains P.O. 27 Jun 1860 Pg 27B (54) HH 346/346 Ln 1 DAVIS, Nancey 52 TN Farmer Luraney 30 TN (Idiot) Elizabeth 17 TN Nancy 12 TN DAVIS, Henry 23 TN Farmer Jane 19 TN James 7/12 TN DAVIS, Henry 74 NC ["Davis Sen," i.e., Henry DAVIS, Sr., prob Nancy's father-in-law] Anderson DAVIS is listed in the 1860 Putnam Co. Mortality Schedule as having d in May 1860 from pneumonia. It would appear that William WILLIS may have d betw the 1850 and 1860 censuses, and that the widowed Nancy (prob WILLIS) Davis was caring for Henry DAVIS, the father of her deceased husband after he died. I descend from Anderson and Nancy's son Henry DAVIS and his wife, Elizabeth Jane FORD, who was the dau of Rev. Abraham FORD and Nancy WOMACK. I cannot track these DAVIS and WILLIS lines beyond the older Henry DAVIS and the William WILLIS shown. Anyone know anything about these persons? Notify Administrator about this message?
