Hi All,

I've located a Peter PETERSON in the 1840 Shelby Co., TN Census. I believe this is my 4th great grandfather and husband of Sarah LIPSCOMP, both of South Carolina.

Their daughter, Catherine b 1823, Alabama d 1915, San Saba Co., TX m Burse B. BLACKWOOD in 1841 Shelby Co., TN.

I am told that the death certificate for Catherine PETERSON BLACKWOOD shows her father, Peter PETERSON, SC and Sarah LIPSCOMB, SC.

Another believed daughter, Florina b abt 1815 TN or SC married William E. GIBSON (Shelby Co., TN marriage records show William GILSON & Floranna PETERSON) in 1837 Shelby Co., TN. They were found living next to Burse B. BLACKWOOD & family in the 1850 Shelby Co., TN Census and in 1860 Ouachita Co., AR Census.

A possible son, Peter b 1832 TN was found living w/Catherine PETERSON and her husband Burse B. BLACKWOOD in the 1850 Collierville, Shelby Co., TN Census.

Would love to obtain more information on both PETERSON & LIBSCOMB Families.

Thanks,
Linda Cashen Gaunt
