Hi all,

I have found a few other bits of information.

In the 1850 Census for Collierville, Shelby Co., TN, I find his daughter, Catherine "Katy" PETERSON (1823, AL -- 1915, TX) and her husband, Burse/Burris B. BLACKWOOD (1820, AL --1897, Locker, San Saba Co., TX)

The BLACKWOOD Family was living next to William E. GIBSON (abt 1810, TN --?) and his wife, Florina PETERSON (abt 1815, SC or AL -- ?). Florina is most likely the sister of Catherine "Katy" PETERSON BLACKWOOD.

The 1850 Census also showed a Peter PETERSON 18 yrs., TN living w/the BLACKWOOD Family. I would assume, Peter, is the brother of Florina and Catherine.

The death certificate for Catherine "Katy" PETERSON BLACKWOOD shows her father, Peter PETERSON and her mother, Sarah LIPSCOM (possibly LIPSCOMB).

I have also noticed several places in Collierville, TN named "PETERSON", Peterson Lake RD, etc.

I found this on another posting;

"Eppy was in Shelby County, Tennessee as early as 1831 according to Goodspeed's History of Shelby County, Tennessee.In July 1831, justices of the Shelby County Court met and appoited judges to hold an election for members of congress on the first thursday and friday in august. Those appointed were Richard WHITBY, Peter PETERSON and Eppy WHITE. He, William WILLIAMS, and Peter PETERS were also were a part of a committiee to contract and be supervisors of the building of a bridge across the Thomas Creek on State Line Rd, At that time Stateline Td was designated to be a 1st class road. The bridge was to cost $15.00."

The BLACKWOOD Family and the GIBSON Family were in Carouse, Ouachita Co., AR in the 1860 Census along with several members of Benjamin F. PRICE'S Family. I believe there are several marriages between these families.

Please excuse any errors, I have attempted to verify this infomation.

Any information would be appreciated,
Linda Cashen Gaunt
