MARJORIE MEEKER BATEMAN, 97, died at home Thursday, November 15, 2007. Mrs. Bateman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis, where she served faithfully in many activities through out her lifetime. She was preceded in 1981 by her husband, Judge William Carey Bateman, Sr. and leaves four children, William Carey Bateman, Jr. of Memphis, TN, Virginia Bateman Hess of Heber Springs, AR, Robert Johnston Bateman of Senatobia, MS, and Marjorie Bateman Gore of Memphis, TN, 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday November 16 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave. The family requests that memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Memphis and The Memphis Humane Society.
