I am hopeful that parents may be listed in the obit of Albert. He died 31 Oct 1917 and was buried in Memphis. The following information should be helpful in identifying him. Wish to contact anyone familiar with this couple. I believe this is Alfred MORTON DICKINSON, son of Israel and Sophia (ARMS) DICKINSON of Hatfield, Hampshire, MA. Alfred M-D was b. 13 June 1853. He had brothers George Dwight b. 05 Apr 1844, died young; Edward Huntington b. 12 Feb 1846 and Carlton Partridge b. 25 Dec 1861, d. 22 Jan 1936. Carlton lived near Rochester NY. In the Rochester (NY) Democrat & Chronicle newspaper on 6 Nov 1917 there appears the following death notice: DICKINSON - In the Canal Zone, Panama, Wednesday, October 31, 1917, Albert DICKINSON, brother of Carlton DICKINSON. Burial in Memphis, Tenn. In 1900, 1910 census of Memphis, Shelby Co, TN the family of Albert M. DICKINSON, wife Margaret (DWYER) and children are found. Children: Charles b. 1888, Helen b. 1891, Mary b. 1894, Anne b. 1897, Rose b. c1901, Agnes b. c1906. In 1920, Margaret is widowed, living with her children. With the family is 1910 is her mother Kate DWYER b. c1830, Ireland and Margaret's sister Mary/Mamie b. c1873, TN. Albert is listed as a R.R. conductor. Charles is listed in 1930 with wife Evelyn L b. c1903 and is a real estate agent. Rose and Anne are living together, still in Memphis, with their Aunt Mary E. DWYER in their household. I'm hoping to confirm that Albert M. is actually Alfred Morton DICKINSON and hope to contact descendents of his family. Carlton was my husband's grandfather. Notify Administrator about this message?
