Was it a case of bad luck or something more sinister? Clara and Francis lost three infants during 1894, the same year that her brother Felix lost three of his children.
In the 1901 Census, Clara and Francis lived with four of their children in a rented 4-room house on 1/4 acre of Concession 10, Lot 10. Francis made $400 that year at the mill.
