Charles J. Trowbr., Newtonville, MA 1935

Looking for Charles J. Trowbridge and wife Pauline. Have letter with letterhead-address from Pauline to Mrs. Orson Horton Wilcox (nee May Reed Hill of Deadwood, SD) Rapid City, SD. Letter describes New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, commencement of 1935 in which my mother Elizabeth (Betty) Wilcox played a violin solo.

Letters home to parents Orson & May Wilcox from Betty and sister Marian, describe various hospitality and kindnesses of the Trowbridges to them when they left home in Rapid City, SD to finish their educations in Boston. They had 2 brothers, Gale & George Wilcox at home.

What connection do Charles J and Pauline Trowbridge have with Wilcoxes? O.H. Wilcox moved to Deadwood SD in 1905 from Montevideo, MN.

Related names are Hill (with German Mays of KY 1830); Reed (with Winn, Fiske, Alexander,Curtis, Orr of Maine 1740's-1880's); King, Bailey (upstate NY and IL 1860's).

These Trowbridges seemed to play "in loco parentis" role with Betty and Marian. Why?
