My paternal grandfather, Floyd H. Temple's first wife was a Sylvia Trowbridge. They lived in the Kingston area. She died at age 19 and left behind two children (Freeman and Sylvia) and my grandfather. She asked her best friend (my grandmother) Sarah E. Whispel(l) to take care of them and they ended up getting married and had a total 13 children (not all lived to adulthood). My gf was buried (1933) beside his first wife in the Trowbridge family plot in the Kingston area. I can't seem to find their gravesites, tho I have found mention that they are buried in the "Bush Road Cemetary" that apparently went under when the Ashokan Reservoir (Ulster Co.) was built and flooded. It is believed that the graves were reinterned elsewhere. That has been my BIGEST mission. There are Trowbridges buried in the large cemetary in Stone Ridge. This is where my grandmother (in 1961) is buried with other Temple family members. I have been also trying to find the names of her (grandmother Sarah's) parents. My father was named after her brother but his last name was Ellsworth....he lived to be 112 and died sometime in the early 1960's. If I come across more I will let you know. You can email me your email address at: sherrysgenes@yahoo.com If you come across the names: Temple, Ellsworth and Whispell/Whispel I will be glad to hear from you. BTW...closer to spring (when weather is better) I will be going back to the Stone Ridge cemetary and will look up the Trowbridges for you (I mean names/dates)...I remember that they were all the way in the back to the left (the cemetary is like a rectangle with the entry way being the width-wise side). <smiles> Sher Notify Administrator about this message?
