Looking for Trowbridges with links to Newfoundland, Canada

The earliest records I can find of Trowbridge in Newfoundland in the early 1800's.

Some of the earlier names I've found are:

Samuel Trowbridge, married to Susan (living here in 1829). Not sure how old they were but they had a son, Samuel, christened in 1829.

Charles, George, and John Trowbridge are listed on church records in 1848-1849

I was told my ancestors came from Isle Valen in Newfoundland. The names of John, Samuel and Thomas show up on the Isle Valen church records here in 1866-1867.

I have been unable to find out where the Trowbridges in Nfld came from - the US, directly from England, or from elsewhere.

Can anyone help? Is anyone missing relatives?

Any leads would be appreciated.
