Hi Janet, I am a Trowbridge from NL and from my father I know a little of our family history. My great great grandfather was Goerge Trowbridge and he was from Butts Hole Placentia Bay NL not Isle Aux Valen, I visit Isle Aux Valen when home on vacation as my father has a cabin there and fishes from there. Georges son Alexander was my great grandfather, he moved from Butts Hole accross the bay to Broadcove on Kings Island also in Placentia Bay. His son Gordon Stuart my grandfather also resided in Broadcove until 1963-64 when they were resettled by the NL government to Sunnyside Trinity Bay Nl. My grandfather had and grandmother Stella had 7 sons(Alexander, George,Benjamin,Cecil,Philip,Gary,William) and 5 daughters(Mary,Karey,Lillian,Gerthruide,Ida). My father is Benjamin and mother Evelyn still reside in Sunnyside and have 4 sons myself the oldest,I live in Halifax NS, MY brothers are Alexander residing in Ottawa,Ralph and Carl who still live in Sunnyside. Hope this info is of some help to you, please let me know.If you have any questions do not hesitate as my father knows a fair amount about our history. He also mentioned that our family roots are from England.

Gord
